Join us this Sunday, May 10 from 3-5pm PST as we gather on the interwebs (Facebook, YouTube, or Twitch) and make music together!
But How?!
We're testing out something brand new this weekend and we'd love to have you take part in our musical experiment 🧪We've been busy editing together a rehearsal video (complete with Dave conducting!) in an attempt to bring our community together virtually and host a digital open session. You're all invited to play along with the video from the comfort of your own home!
Huh?!
Allow Baily, our Communications Director, to explain:
Okay... so what do I need to do?
It's super easy. You do not need to sign up to participate. Just make sure you download the sheet music ahead of time (from our G Drive here) and take a listen to España this week in preparation. It's a fun, but devilishly difficult piece, so we recommend practicing a bit beforehand. Also, you'll want to set up your music stand to be as close to your computer or laptop as possible, that way you're able to see your music and Dave's conducting at the same time. Do you have external speakers that you can use? Rad. Make sure to have those ready to go! The rehearsal will last an hour.
And that's it?
Yup! It's that simple. We hope you'll join in with us and make music together while apart. Dave Möschler and Resident Awesöme Musicologist Molly Phelan (of Canon Fodder) will be doing a Q&A afterward, so stick around once we're done playing and ask questions in the chat (on any of the three platforms).
You can RSVP to and share our Facebook event here. And no - this isn't a Zoom call or any kind of video chat. We will not be able to see or hear you, so you're invited to participate as much or as little as you choose. And, finally, we would love to specifically encourage players who don't live in the Bay Area to join us!
