Session 112: Bluebirds & Bizet

  • Uptown Body & Fender 401 26th St, Oakland, CA 94612 (map)

Join us again at everyone's favorite auto body shop as we play through some exciting orchestral music! We'll start off with a reading of a hopeful and beautiful new piece for orchestra by Erin Spencer based off of themes from "Over the Rainbow" and dedicated to the victims of the Club Q 2022 tragedy in Colorado Springs. Following that we'll do a reading of Morfydd Llwyn Owen's dramatic and rarely performed Welsh tone poem Morfa Rhuddlan. We'll then finish the session with Bizet's Carmen Suite No. 1.

Waitlist Protocol

Our community of musicians is growing (which is AWESOME), but sometimes that means that some sections fill up quickly (especially flutes and clarinets). You can still sign-up via the form, but if you notice on the form that your instrument has a “waitlist” tag on it, don’t despair! We usually take players off the waitlist as some folks’ plans change. When that happens, you’ll be notified by your Section Ambassadors.

Please do not cancel day of! Our amazing Awesöme Ambassadors are juggling a lot on our session days and trying to fill your spot last minute is a challenge!
