Awesöme Orchestra is honored to be collaborating for the third time with ONIKHO performing a new song arranged for full orchestra by Jon Seiberlich. Guest vocalist Yvette Pylant will be back performing Billie Holiday's classic “God Bless the Child” in a beautiful new arrangement by Matt Wong and conducted by Bryan Nies.
In addition to an exciting medley of Koji Kondo's music from The Legend of Zelda video game series, led by one of our regular guest conductors, Sue Crum, Associate Artistic Director Brian Adam McCune will also lead the orchestra in rarely heard selections from John Williams The Phantom Menace and Randol Alan Bass's charming The Night Before Christmas, featuring our very own Awesöme Ambassador, J. Maddox, as guest narrator!
We’re honored to to welcome back two other local guest conductors who are part of the Awesöme Orchestra Collective community — Dr. Sixto F. Montesinos Jr. and Marty Stoddard who will lead the orchestra through exciting premieres by local violinist Sandi Poindexter and up and coming Australian composer Naomi Dodd, respectively.
We’ll close out the evening with our Awesöme Chorus, who'll join us for both the end credits from the late James Horner's epic and rarely heard score to Krull as well as Sondheim's beautiful transcendent hymn "Sunday" from Sunday in the Park with George. You don’t want to miss this amazing line up!
