We're headed back to San Francisco for our next session! Join us on April 14 from 12-3pm at the SF Public Library for Session 66 and Sunday Streets SF!
What is Sunday Streets SF, you ask? With car-free streets, free activities and plenty of chances to meet your neighbors, Sunday Streets creates a temporary, walkable park to offer guests an intimate way of interacting with the area’s array of authentic and affordable restaurants, small businesses and nonprofit services. On April 14, Sunday Streets' most urban route celebrates the centrally-located and densely-populated Tenderloin, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. We're really excited to be participating!
In line with the overall theme for Sunday Streets SF, our session will be featuring pieces about WATER. We'll begin at noon with The Wreckers: The Overture by English composer and member of the women's suffrage movement, Ethel Smyth. Next, we'll take a dive into local composer (and Resident Guest Conductor!) Brian Adam McCune's piece Aquatic Refuge, and for the final hour, we'll explore Hyrule with Koji Kondo's Wind Waker Symphonic Movement from The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker.

WHEN: Sunday, April 14, 2019, 12:00–3:00 p.m.
WHERE: San Francisco Public Library, Main Branch, 100 Larkin St., San Francisco, CA (in courtyard outside Fulton St. entrance).
**BACKUP LOCATION FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER: Sports Basement, Berkeley (same date, same program!). If the weather forecast prevents us from playing at SFPL comfortably, we'll send out an email 24 hours ahead of time to notify everyone of the change!**
TRANSPORTATION SUGGESTIONS: SFPL is less than one block from Civic Center BART. Larkin, Fulton, and Grove streets will be closed to traffic due to Sunday Streets, so, as always, we strongly suggest public transit, biking, or ride-sharing, as possible. Double bassists and players of other large instruments can unload nearby and re-park close by if needed (talk to your Ambassador about specific details).

Please bring a music stand, layers for warmth, and sunglasses! We'll have chairs, sheet music, stand clips, and water for the musicians. Unfortunately, due to licensing we can't have beer at this venue so it'll be a dry event. Audience members are invited to bring blankets, picnics, and lawn chairs for lounging!
The sign-up deadline for all sections is Sunday, April 7. Once that has passed, expect an email from your Awesöme Ambassadors with specific info and part assignments later that week (check your spam filters if this is your first session).
