Thanks for your patience in our re-scheduling of Session 61 (originally scheduled for Sept. 23, 2018) to this new date. We're excited to be back at Sports Basement in Berkeley!

WHERE: Sports Basement, 2727 Milvia St., Berkeley, CA

TRANSPORTATION SUGGESTIONS: It's a 0.5 mile walk north of Ashby BART. Limited paid street parking is available, but as always, we strongly suggest public transit, biking, or ride-sharing, as possible.

1:00- 1:45 pm - Alberto Ginastera - Danza final (Malambo) from Danzas del ballet ESTANCIA (1943)

INSTRUMENTATION: 1 piccolo, 1 flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets (B-flat), 2 bassoons, 4 horns (F), 2 trumpets (C), timpani, xylophone, 6 percussion (snare drum, tenor drum, bass drum, tambourine, triangle, suspend cymbal, tam-tam), piano, strings

2:00 - 2:50 pm - Aivi & Surasshu - "Pocket Universe" from their album THE BLACK BOX (arr. Alex Van Gils) (2013)

INSTRUMENTATION: 2 flutes, 1 piccolo, 2 oboes, 1 english horn, 2 clarinets (B-flat), 1 bass clarinet, 3 bassoons, 4 horns (F), 3 trumpets (C), 2 trombones, 1 bass trombone, 1 tuba, timpani, 3 percussion (snare, glockenspiel, vibraphone (bowed)), strings

3:00 - 4:00 pm - Antonin Dvorak - Symphony No. 9 "from the new world" op. 95 - Movement IV: Allegro con fuoco (1895)

The sign-up deadline for small sections (winds, brass, percussion) is Saturday November 3. Once that has passed, expect an email from your Awesöme Ambassadors with specific info and part assignments within the week (check your spam filters if this is your first session). Email your ambassadors if you haven't heard back by November 7. (Please be patient—they have a lot of information to collect before emailing everyone.)
